I think its wonderful to dedicate a day to celebrating L-O-V-E. Its a fun excuse to buy some flowers, eat a little chocolate and share sweet words with your partner, gal pals or yourself! But, to be completely honest, I just don't think its enough. 

No, I'm not advocating for stuffed teddy bears and red + pink balloons at the store each week, but shouldn't we take more than 24 hours to showering our loved ones, ourselves and even strangers with a little extra TLC? 

Self-love in particular could use a bump up in the priority list, don't you think? Its all too often that the busiest people I meet take care of themselves the least, leading to an empty tank and a teeter-totter on the edge of serious burnout. There's a common misconception that to go far we must push ourselves far, push hard and, yes, "sleep when we're dead". Stopping to take care of yourself along the way? Weak, selfish, undeserving. But I say thats nonsense. 

Self care is not selfish.
